Hi, I'm Sofia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Barcelona, Spain.
A few years back, my family and I moved here. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The opening months were demanding — adapting to new systems, routines, and expectations. Routine tasks felt more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Plush Garden Way
Most information online boiled down to corporate relocation guidance or light tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
